What Is a Library Partner?

Library Partners of the Wilfred J. Airey Library is an advocacy group that exists to promote and financially support the resources, services, programs and needs of the Norco College Academic Library. Library Partners are encouraged to contribute an annual donation to the library and also volunteer to help with library-related events, activities, operations, and initiatives. Library Partners promote an appreciation of and an interest in the library throughout the college and community, and serve to demonstrate the overall value of libraries, books, and reading.

A message from our Norco College Library Partners President, Dowa Ross:

If I am not at the library one day of my school week, the library staff wonders if I'm feeling okay.  It seems every single day of my student life at Norco College, I need to make use of the wealth of resources available to me at the Wilfred J. Airey Library.  It's not just borrowing books for study and class assignments or for my own pleasure.  I have checked out laptops for the semester's class assignments; I make use of the quiet study rooms; I seek expert help from the librarians to find the best databases and information for my studies, and of course, the printing services and special events such as poetry readings and Open Mic opportunities.  Then there is my favorite event, the READ TO SUCCEED program where student clubs and special programs present literary treasures to fellow students in monthly discussions.  These sessions conclude with a visit from the book's author and an opportunity to ask questions and have books signed by the author.

My experience with the library has been so rich and fulfilling that I am proud to be part of the Library Partners Team and seek support and sponsorships from our local community to further enrich the educational experiences of Norco College students.   If you are interested in getting involved in this worthy cause, please contact Dean Damon Nance at (951) 372-7041 or email at: Damon.Nance@NorcoCollege.edu
