Words and images available on the internet can be spun to manipulate the way you see information. Be careful to fully evaluate any information you get for credibility.
Just like when you are looking at any website, you should always ask your self if a source is biased. Are they trying to sway opinion one way or another, and if so -- why??
- Images, for example, can be used to sway opinions. You can search for an image source using Google Reverse Image search.
- You can also fact-check information in an article by looking for other sources that support or refute a point of view. What is their credibility?
- Also, see if you can find out who the author is of the article, and look them up in Google. Questions you may need to ask are: Where do they work? What is their education? Where have they worked in the past?
