Words and images on the internet can be spun to manipulate how you see information. Be careful to thoroughly evaluate any information you get for credibility.
Like when looking at any website, you should always ask yourself if a source is biased. Are they trying to sway opinion somehow, and if so -- why??
- Images, for example, can be used to sway opinions. You can search for an image source using Google Reverse Image search.
- You can also fact-check information in an article by looking for other sources that support or refute a point of view. What is their credibility?
- Also, see if you can find out the author of the article and look them up on Google. Questions you may need to ask are: Where do they work? What is their education? Where have they worked in the past?
